Sintja is the principle songwriter, front-woman, and founder of THE NAIVE.
Her debut EP, “Saw The Sun” was released on January 25th, 2017 at The Piston.
Sintja has been playing alongside various Toronto acts as a multi-instrumentalist and back up vocalist, currently playing that role in Marlon Chaplin’s band. She started her own band THE NAIVE, where her music took the shape of ecclectic pop. “Saw the Sun” is a medley of catchy upbeat hooks and mellow ballads.
THE NAIVE is:
Sintja - vocals, keys, electric & nylon, percussion
Alex Lakusta - electric bass
Brandon Wall - acoustic & electric guitar
Stefan Hegerat - drums
Sintja on THE NAIVE: "As a collective, I feel like if there was a machine where I could play what’s in my head, they do it better. They’re all highly intuitive and tasteful musicians. I never felt like I had to give much direction. In fact, I felt as if they’ve led me in a way, by aiding me in developing the songs. I give them a skeleton, and they make it dance."
Other collaborations include: Freeman Dre & The Kitchen Party, and French Press in the supporting role of back-up vocals, keys, and tambourine. She has been part of several records, the most recent being: “Wanderer By Trade” & "Fossils" (single) - Marlon Chaplin, “Reckless Good Intentions” - Freeman Dre & The Kitchen Party, “Tangents” - Ada Dahli & The Pallbearers, and “No Stranger” - The Commoners.
